The Toyota Sequoia in this case was discovered missing from its owner’s Chicago home on a recent Sunday afternoon. Thanks to local police, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the SUV was purchased, recovery took less than one hour after activation.

On February 2nd, 2014, the Toyota’s contacted the Chicago Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle into NCIC, state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Sequoia, which was installed at Colonial Toyota in Milford, CT.

Less than an hour later, an officer from Chicago’s Austin District began picking up the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Toyota was located on West Van Buren St., where it was found parked and abandoned.  The undamaged Sequoia was retrieved by CPD and soon returned to its owner.
