‘With friends like these, who needs enemies?’ is a very old saying that really rings true in this particular case. A Miami Beach, FL resident loaned her father’s Acura Integra to a friend who refused to return it. Although these victims couldn’t trust this particular ‘friend’, they could put their faith in the LoJack® system. With LoJack’s assistance, local police were able to locate the Integra in less than 15 minutes after activation.

On February 8th, 2014, the daughter of the Acura’s owner reported the incident to the Miami Beach Police Department. The desk officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Integra.

A few minutes later, a Miami Beach PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Acura parked and abandoned on Espanola Way. Police retrieved the Integra and quickly returned it to its relieved owner.
