A 2010 Toyota Camry was stolen during a recent overnight home burglary in Baltimore, MD. The LoJack® system that the owner had installed when purchasing his car proved its worth by helping local law enforcement recover the vehicle in less than a half hour after activation.

On January 7th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Baltimore City Police to report the incident.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Bill Kidd’s Timonium Toyota in Cockeysville, MD.

A short while later, detectives with the Balitmore Regional Auto Theft Team picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives located the Toyota on O’Donnell Street in Baltimore, where it was found parked and unoccupied. After a brief surveillance, the Camry was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
