The victim in this case had his Acura Integra stolen from in front of his residence overnight. The LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased really proved its value by helping local law enforcement recover the Integra in less than two hours after activation.

On January 2nd, 2014, the Acura’s owner contacted the Skokie Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the LEADS and NCIC, state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Integra, which was installed at Pauly Acura in Libertyville, IL.

A short while later, Chicago PD officers from the 25th District began picking up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Acura was located on N Marmora Ave, where it was found parked and unoccupied with switched tags and VIN number. Chicago Major Auto Theft Investigation Unit (CMATI) responded to the scene, retrieved the stolen vehicle, and soon returned it to its thankful owner.
