2007 Chevrolet Tahoe Stolen from Euclid, Tracked and Recovered in Cleveland Less than 30 Minutes Later

The owner of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe awoke on the morning of January 21, 2012 to discover that her vehicle had been stolen overnight. She immediately filed a theft report with the Euclid Police Department. After verifying the theft, officers had the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime databases. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the stolen Tahoe. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Within minutes, several law enforcement agencies in northeast Cuyahoga County received the LoJack silent signal on the LoJack Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Taking directions from his computers, an officer with the Cleveland Police Department tracked the signal to a garage in an industrial area of Cleveland less. After obtaining consent to search the premises, the officer found the stolen, undamaged Tahoe inside the garage.
Because of the quick recovery the suspects did not have time to strip the vehicle or use it to commit other crimes. Information was obtained and the case is being turned over to the detectives for further investigation.
The owner was happy that Infiniti of Bedford had pre-installed a LoJack Vehicle Recovery System on the vehicle in December 2010.
