Imagine that late one night you get a phone call from your car, truck, van or motorcycle letting you know that it’s being stolen. This scenario may sound a little far-fetched, but it’s actually how the LoJack® Early Warning System works. When your LoJack EW protected vehicle is moved without its corresponding Early Warning Key Pass, you will be notified by phone, text and email of the movement, so you can quickly contact local law enforcement to activate your LoJack and retrieve your property. In this case, a 2010 Honda Accord was recovered in less than two hours thanks to local police and LoJack Early Warning.

On October 31st, 2013, the Honda’s owners were notified by LoJack’s Early Warning system that their car had been moved without their authorization, and, after verifying that the car was missing, they contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle stolen. Deputies prepared a theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Braman Honda of Palm Beach in Green Acres, FL.

A short while later, a PBSO deputy picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy located the Honda parked and abandoned in a lot near Park Lane and Pine Ridge Lane. The Accord was soon returned to its very grateful owners.
