Colorado Law Enforcement Agencies Team Up to Recover Stolen Ford Explorer in 38 Minutes with Help from the LoJack® System

This case is a true example of teamwork. Several different branches of law enforcement in Colorado worked with the LoJack® system to recover a stolen Ford Explorer in less than one hour after activation.

On December 21st, 2013, the Ford’s owners contacted the Adams County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Automotive Avenues in Lakewood, CO.

A short while later, officers from several area law enforcement agencies- Colorado State Patrol, Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Thornton Police Department, Federal Heights Police Department and Commerce City Police Department-  picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers quickly tracked the Ford to the area of 78th and Locust in Commerce City. The Explorer was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
