After a long day at work, the last thing the Honda Civic owner in this case needed was a stolen vehicle. Unfortunately, this situation did occur, but this victim did have one advantage- the LoJack® system, which was installed when the car was purchased and allowed local police to recover it quickly and safely.

On November 26th, 2013, the Honda’s owners contacted Worcester Police to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington, MA.

A short while later, troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Holden Barracks and Worcester PD officers began picking up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They quickly located the vehicle on Forest St. in Worcester, where it was parked and abandoned. The Civic was retrieved and quickly returned to its happy owner.
