It takes all the fun out of sleeping late on a Saturday morning when you open up your door and discover your vehicle has been stolen. That’s what happened recently to these Miramar, FL residents whose 2009 Nissan Maxima was missing from their driveway. These victims were smart enough to have the LoJack® system installed when purchasing their car, which proved to be a smart purchase since, with LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover their Maxima in less than an hour and a half after activation.

On October 13th, 2013, the Nissan’s owners contacted the Miramar Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Maxima, which was installed at Maroone Nissan of Pembroke Pines, FL, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a Miami Gardens PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer, along with backup, located the Nissan abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot on N.W. 204th Street. After a brief surveillance, the Maxima was recovered and soon returned to its gratified owners.
