The last thing this Lawrenceville, GA resident probably expected when arriving home one Friday evening was to be carjacked in his own driveway. However, this terrible situation occurred and the victim was prepared because there was a LoJack® system installed in his Toyota 4-Runner. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover his SUV in just over two hours after activation.

On November 15th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted Gwinnett County Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 4-Runner, which was installed at Toyota of New Orleans, LA.

A short while later,  a Lawrenceville PD officer began receiving the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. He tracked the signal to a shopping area and found the Toyota with two people inside. After a brief pursuit, the SUV was stopped and the two suspects arrested. The victim was pleased and relieved to have his 4-Runner returned to him.
