As Saturday night was turning into Sunday morning one weekend, this Seattle, WA resident got a shocking surprise when he discovered his BMW X3 was missing from where he had parked it on East Pike Street. The victim immediately contacted local police, who, with the help of the LoJack® system installed on the SUV, were able to recover the vehicle in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On October 13th, 2013, the BMW’s owner reported the crime to the Seattle Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the BMW, which was installed at Performance Nissan/Kia in Everett, WA.

A short while later, a Seattle PD K9 officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  The officer located the SUV on Harvard Avenue, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged X3 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
