Honda Ridgeline Stolen in Jersey City — Recovered in Hours by Police Using LoJack

On the morning of January 22, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Honda Ridgeline contacted the Jersey City Police Department to report the truck stolen.
The reporting officer responded to the scene, prepared a stolen vehicle report and had the stolen Honda’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda and initiated the tracking of the vehicle.
Less than three hours later, Jersey City Police units began to receive the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Ridgeline on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the computer’s cues, the officers quickly located the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the grateful owner.
