It’s tough enough to get up on Monday morning and go to work without having a major crisis like a stolen vehicle to deal with. The Centennial, CO residents found this out the hard way when their Jeep Commander was stolen. The LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their Jeep made things a little easier by helping local police recover it in just over four and a half hours after activation.

On September 16th, 2013, the Commander’s owners contacted the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office/Centennial Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Jeep, which was installed at Lithia Colorado Chrysler Jeep in Aurora, CO, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, troopers with the Colorado State Patrol picked up the homing signals from the stolen vehicle on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Troopers tracked the Commander to the area of University and County Line Road, where they found it parked and abandoned. The Jeep was soon returned to its very grateful owners.
