This New Jersey resident stopped at a convenience store at lunchtime one Monday, and exited to find his 2013 Hyundai Sonata gone. Our victim had made the situation convenient for the thieves by leaving his vehicle both unlocked and running. It’s a good thing the owner had the LoJack® system installed when purchasing his car, so his local police could track it down that same day.

On September 16th, 2013, the Hyundai’s owner contacted the Edgewater Park Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Sonata, which was installed at Hyundai of Turnersville, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, a patrol officer from the Delaware River Bridge PD picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. He located the Hyundai traveling across the bridge from New Jersey into Pennsylvania. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the occupants. The undamaged Sonata was soon returned to its grateful owner.
