The Boston, MA residents in this case had their Volvo C30 stolen from right in front of their home one Wednesday morning. They were glad they chose to have the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their car, because their local police, helped by LoJack, were able to recover it that same afternoon.

On August 21st, 2013, the Volvo’s owner contacted the Boston Police District C-4 Station to report that the vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the C30, which was installed at Boston Village Volvo in Boston, MA.

A short while later, officers from Boston, Brookline and the Massachusetts State Police began picking up the homing signals from the Volvo on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. A Boston officer tracked the car to Northampton Street, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged C30 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
