Dallas, Texas Police Recover Stolen Dodge Durango in 12 Minutes Assisted by the LoJack® System

The Dallas, TX resident in this case had a really terrible day- not only was his home broken into, but the thieves also stole his Dodge Durango SUV. It’s certain that the victim was glad he had the LoJack® system installed when he bought his vehicle, because it assisted local police in recovering it in only 12 minutes after activation.

On July 9th, 2013, the Dodge’s owner contacted the Dallas Police Dept. to report that his house had been burglarized and his SUV was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Durango, which was installed at Bledsoe Dodge in Dallas, TX.

A very short time later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the Dodge on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the stolen Dodge and observed it traveling on Oakgate Drive.  A traffic stop was performed and the driver was arrested. The undamaged Durango was soon returned to its relieved owner.
