The LoJack® System Helps Cranston, Rhode Island Police Recover Cadillac DeVille Stolen in Massachusetts

As you may know, when the LoJack® system is activated to recover a stolen car, truck, van or motorcycle, it’s activated everywhere in the USA with LoJack coverage. It doesn’t matter if the vehicle is moved across the street or across the country. When police enter a VIN (vehicle identification number) into their computerized stolen vehicle system, the LoJack starts sending out its homing signal to help law enforcement track it down. In this case, a Cadillac DeVille that was taken during a Massachusetts home break-in is recovered by police in Rhode Island.
On July 2nd, 2013, the Cadillac’s owner contacted the Attleboro, MA police to report that their home had been burglarized and their car was missing from their driveway. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Cadillac DeVille, which was installed at Herb Chambers Cadillac in Providence, RI, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, officers from the Cranston, RI Police picked up the homing signals from the Cadillac on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the vehicle to an area off Park Avenue in Cranston, where it was parked and unoccupied. The DeVille was soon returned to its relieved owner.
