The LoJack® System Helps Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Air Support Recover Stolen Harley Davidson XL1200

One of the best factors of the LoJack® system is that it allows different branches of law enforcement to combine their efforts to retrieve stolen vehicles fast! In this case, three separate police divisions in Oklahoma work together to recover a Harley Davidson XL1200 motorcycle.

On July 8^th, 2013, the Harley’s owner contacted the Oklahoma City Police Department to report the bike was stolen from his residence. The Oklahoma City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed on the XL1200, which was installed at Earl Small’s Harley Davidson in Marietta, GA

A short while later, a deputy with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department and an Oklahoma Highway Patrol air unit picked up the homing signal from the Harley with the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol units.  The bike was found in the backyard of a residence in Oklahoma City. Two individuals who were inside the residence were taken into custody, and the XL1200 was soon returned to its relieved owner.
