The Allentown, PA residents in this case had their Pontiac G6 stolen early Saturday evening, giving their weekend a not-so-great start. It’s a good thing they had the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their vehicle, so local law enforcement could recover it in only 23 minutes after activation.

On July 6th, 2013, the Pontiac’s owner contacted Allentown Police. The assigned officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the G6, which was installed at Union Pontiac GMC in Union, NJ.

A short time later, a sergeant with the Lehigh County Auto Theft Task Force received the homing signal from the Pontiac on the LoJack tracking computer installed in the police vehicle. The Sergeant tracked the vehicle to Cedar Street in Allentown, where Allentown PD had also arrived. The Pontiac was located, parked and abandoned, and was soon returned to its very relieved owners.
