Imagine waking up on a Monday morning and finding your vehicle missing. That‘s what happened to the Montgomery County, TX residents in this next case who found that their Toyota Camry was missing from where they had parked it the previous evening. It’s a good thing that the LoJack® system was installed when the car was purchased, so the police were able to recover it that same day.

On June 3rd, 2013, the owner of a Toyota Camry contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway sometime during the night. MCSD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Champion Toyota- Gulf Freeway in Houston, TX.

A short while later, MCSD Deputies picked up the homing signals from the Camry on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a public street where the Toyota was parked and abandoned. It was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
