Having your vehicle stolen is not the way anyone would choose to spend their Saturday, as the El Cajon, CA residents in this case discovered. Luckily, they did choose to have the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their BMW 335i so their local police were able to recover their car quickly, and the rest of their weekend could be spent relaxing instead of worrying.

On May 25th, 2013, the BMW’s owners contacted El Cajon Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the 335i, which was installed at Cunningham BMW in El Cajon, CA.

A short time later, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the BMW on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol units.  The deputies tracked the car to a residential area in Lemon Grove.  The deputies observed a male park and abandon the BMW in the street.  The suspect was arrested and the undamaged 335i was soon returned to its very relieved owners.
