When a new car buyer decides to have the LoJack® system installed, their hope is that they will never have to use it. However, in the unfortunate circumstance that they DO need to activate it, both they and the members of law enforcement tracking their stolen vehicle are all very happy it’s there to get the car recovered quickly.

On April 29th, 2013, the owners of a Subaru Impreza contacted Denver Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Impreza, which was installed at Ron Price Motors in San Francisco, CA.

A short while later, officers with Denver PD picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the Subaru with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to the 3000 block of East 1st Avenue, where it was recovered with only minor damage. The owners were very happy to have their Impreza returned to them.
