This newly relocated Chicago, IL resident learned the value of the LoJack® system when her Ford 500 was taken containing important papers and property. On May 19th, 2013, the Ford’s owners discovered their vehicle gone from the location it was parked the night before. The owners contacted the Chicago Police who verified the theft and entered the car’s information into their local and national crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 500, which was installed at Mike Shad Ford at the Avenues in Jacksonville, FL.

A short time later, Chicago PD officers began picking up the homing signals for the Ford on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the car to a parking lot on Chicago’s west side, where it was recovered abandoned and undamaged, with all property left inside.

The 500’s owners were ecstatic upon having their car returned. One stated that “LoJack is the best money I ever spent!”  She further went on to state she had just recently moved to Chicago and had left important papers in her trunk and feared they would be gone forever. She went on to say “I’m so glad to have my car and things back.  I even just had the car detailed.”
