The LoJack® System Helps Balch Springs,Texas Police Recover Volvo S80 Stolen from Valet Parking Service

Valet parking is a convenience people use when they don’t want to take the time to find a free spot on their own, or when they don’t know the area well. It also seems a little safer to have your car brought back to you rather than walking a distance to get to it, especially late at night. Unfortunately, when this Dallas diner valet parked his 2008 Volvo S80, he got a surprise after dinner- and it wasn’t a complimentary dessert.
On April 21st, 2013, the Volvo’s owner had his car valet parked at a Dallas restaurant. When the owner went to leave the restaurant, the valet service could not find his keys or his vehicle. The owner contacted Dallas Police and reported his vehicle stolen. Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit in the S80, which was installed at Volvo of Dallas in Carrollton, TX, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, officers from the Balch Springs TX Police picked up the homing signals from the Volvo on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the car to a residential street, where they found it abandoned on the side of the road. The undamaged S80 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
