Waking up and finding your truck missing from your driveway is not a great way to start the weekend, but this Dallas, TX resident did have one advantage- he had a LoJack® system installed when he purchased his 2009 Ford F-150, and his local police were able to track down his truck before lunch.

On May 4th, 2013, the pickup’s owner contacted Dallas Police to report that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway. Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the truck, which was installed at North Central Ford in Richardson, TX.

A short while later, officers from Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the Ford on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the stolen pickup to a private home.  It was backed into the front driveway with a second pickup parked in front of it.  The front license plate had been removed, but this visual maneuver did not detract the LoJack system.  The F-150 was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owner with only minor damage.
