Just a second…..that’s all it takes for a thief to steal your car when it’s left unattended with the keys in it, as this Cadillac Escalade owner found out recently when his car was taken from his own driveway. Luckily, he had the LoJack® system installed so his local police were able to retrieve his vehicle and return it to him.

On May 4th , 2013, the owner of a Cadillac Escalade called the Irvington, New Jersey police to report that his vehicle was stolen.  He told police he was in his driveway removing packages from his Escalade, when he went into the house, someone jumped into his car and drove away.

The Irvington PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Cadillac Escalade, which was installed at Saturn of Green Brook, NJ .

A short time later, a police officer from the Irvington PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the vehicle to the rear yard of an abandoned home, where the Escalade was recovered undamaged. It was soon returned to its relieved owners.
