It’s difficult to imagine anything scarier than a home invasion. The California residents in this case not only had the sanctity of their home disturbed, but had two luxury vehicles stolen. One had the LoJack® system installed; the other did not.

On April 28th, 2013, the owners of a 2010 Mercedes Benz CL63-AMG contacted Los Angeles Sheriff’s- Marina Del Rey Station to report that they were victims of a home invasion. Armed suspects broke into their home, demanding keys to their vehicles, and stole another high-end car in addition to the CL63-AMG.

LASD deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into their state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Mercedes, which was installed at Mercedes Benz of San Diego, CA.

Within minutes of activation, an officer from the Santa Monica College PD picked up the homing signal from the CL63-AMG on the LoJack tracking computer in his police cruiser. He located the car at a gas station, occupied by two men matching the description given by the victims. The officer called for assistance and made a traffic stop, arresting the suspects. The CL63-AMG was recovered within four minutes after the LoJack system was activated. The other vehicle, which did not have a LoJack device installed, was found around the corner from where the Mercedes was recovered.  The grateful owner says that he is going to install the LoJack system on ALL his vehicles.
