LoJack Helps Seattle Police Recover Stolen Subaru Impreza, Located Abandoned & Undamaged

On February 11, 2013, the owner of a 2008 Subaru Impreza parked the vehicle at NE 80th Street and Greenlake Drive in Seattle. Sometime during an eighteen-hour period, the car was stolen from that location.  After attempts by the owner to locate the car on his own, he reported the theft to the Seattle Police Department.  Seattle Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Subaru.

Minutes later, a Seattle Police officer received the silent LoJack homing signal transmitting from the stolen Subaru on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol car.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer, he tracked the vehicle to NE 92nd & Meridian Place North.  It was found abandoned and did not appear to be damaged.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Subaru Impreza in May of 2008 at Palm Beach Mazda in West Palm Beach, Florida.  The approximate value is $12,500.
