LoJack Helps Georgia State Patrol Recover Stolen Range Rover, Found Undamaged & Abandoned

On January 18, 2013, the owner of a 2013 Land Rover Range Rover contacted the Alpharetta Police Department to report that the SUV was stolen from her home. Alpharetta Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the SUV.
A short while later, officers from the Georgia State Patrol’s Night Hawk Unit began receiving a silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen SUV on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex, where it was found backed into a parking space.
After a check of the area, the troopers suspected that the driver spotted the officers and fled on foot before they saw them. Residents in the complex stated that they saw two suspects run from the vehicle just before the officers arrived on the scene.
The owner was contacted and advised that the vehicle was recovered in very good condition, without any damage. The owner stated that she was very happy that a LoJack system had been installed in the new Land Rover at the dealership
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Land Rover in November 2012 at Hennessy Land Rover-North Point.
