Fairfax County Deputies Use LoJack to Recover Stolen Mercedes Benz C-300

On January 26, 2013 the owner of a 2011 Mercedes Benz C-300, valued at over $23,000, contacted the Fairfax County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 1900 block of Lakeport Way in Reston, Virginia.

Fairfax County Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Mercedes.

Shortly after the LoJack transponder was activated, deputies from the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent Lojack homing signals from the stolen Mercedes on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the deputies tracked the vehicle to the 11000 block of Southlakes Drive in Reston, Virginia, where they located the stolen Mercedes. The vehicle was recovered by the police and returned to the owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed into the Mercedes in March of 2011 at Mercedes Benz of Chantilly, Virginia.
