On January 8, 2013, the owner of a 2010 Toyota Corolla contacted the Hamilton Township Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. The customer told police that he parked his vehicle at work and when he came out of work for lunch, found that his vehicle was missing.

The Hamilton Township Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short time later, a police officer from the Atlantic City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Toyota Corolla on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer, the officer tracked the vehicle to the parking garage of the Golden Nugget Casino. There, they recovered the undamaged vehicle.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Corolla on May 27, 2010 at Shore Toyota, Inc. in Mays Landing, New Jersey.
