LoJack Helps Seattle Police Recover Stolen Honda Accord Believed to Have Been Used in Robbery

On December 25, 2012, the owner of a 2003 Honda Accord discovered that his vehicle was stolen from the area of 23^rd & Cherry Streets in Seattle.  The theft occurred sometime after 11:30 a.m. on December 23^rd, but the owner delayed reporting it for two days. Once the report was verified, the Seattle Police Department entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. This process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda.

Less than two hours later, a Seattle Police officer received the silent LoJack homing signal transmitting from the stolen Honda on the Police Tracking Computer installed in her patrol car.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer, the Seattle Police Department officer quickly tracked the vehicle to the 400 block of Terrace Street, where they located the abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was processed for evidence as it was believed to have been used in an armed robbery.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Honda Accord in July of 2003 at Honda of Kirkland when it was purchased as a used car.  The approximate value is $8,000.
