LoJack Helps Worcester (MA) Police Recover Stolen Toyota Corolla

On the early evening of December 29, 2012, the owner of a 2010 Toyota Corolla left work and was walking to her vehicle. When she arrived at where she had parked it on Stafford Street, she discovered that it was no longer there. The victim immediately contacted the Worcester Police Department to report the vehicle stolen.
Worcester Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Toyota Corolla.
A short while later, officers from the Worcester Police Department and troopers from the Massachusetts State Police picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Toyota on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the troopers, who were on patrol in the area of Park Avenue in Worcester, tracked the stolen vehicle to the area around Coes Pond. There, they quickly located the vehicle, parked and unoccupied on the street. After a brief investigation, the troopers had the vehicle towed from the recovery scene for safekeeping until the owner could be notified of the recovery.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Corolla on June 20, 2012 at the Harr Toyota Dealership in Worcester, Massachusetts.
