CT Police Use LoJack to Recover Toyota Corolla Stolen in Queens — One Arrested

On November 23, 2012, the owners of a 2005 Toyota Corolla returned to where the vehicle was parked in Flushing, New York and discovered it missing: they immediately contacted the New York Police Department to report the vehicle stolen.
NYPD’s 107th Precinct verified the theft and had the Toyota’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.
The following day, Westport Police and Troopers on I-95 in Connecticut began receiving the silent homing signals coming from the stolen vehicle with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) installed in their patrol vehicles. The LoJack PTC then provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.
Troopers from the Bridgeport and Westbrook Barracks tracked the signal as it led them north on Interstate 95 towards Rhode Island. Troopers caught up to the vehicle and discovered that it was the only vehicle on a small car carrier trailer. The towing vehicle was pulled over, and after a short investigation, the operator was taken into custody.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Corolla at Bronx Auto Group, Bronx Toyota in 2004.
