LoJack Helps Denver Police Recover Ford Expedition Stolen in Thornton, Colorado

On December 17, 2012, the owners of a 2004 Ford Expedition contacted the Thornton Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.
Thornton Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Ford.
A short while later, officers with the Denver Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Expedition with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.
Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack PTCs, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 4500 block of Navajo Street, where the vehicle was found abandoned but drivable. The Expedition, valued at $8,000, was returned to the owner.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Ford Expedition in February of 2005 at GO Ford West in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
