Honda CRV Stolen in Revere, MA, Recovered by Massachusetts Police Using LoJack

On the morning of October 17, 2012, the owner of a Honda CRV awoke to find her vehicle missing from her driveway on Vane Street, where it had been parked the night before. She immediately contacted the Revere Police Department to report the vehicle stolen.
The Revere Police Department verified the theft and entered the Honda’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.
A short while later, officers from the Revere Police Department and troopers assigned to the Governor’s Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Honda on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. While patrolling the area of RT 107/Broadway, the troopers began following the directional and audible cues from their LoJack computers, and were quickly able to track and locate the abandoned stolen car, parked on Adams Street in Revere. They immediately set up surveillance on the Honda, but when no suspect(s) returned for several hours, they had the vehicle towed for safekeeping.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2004 Honda CRV on September 27, 2004 at the Bernardi VW-Audi-Honda in Natick, Massachusetts.
