On October 8, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle contacted the Travis County Sheriff’s Office to report that the motorcycle was stolen from an apartment complex just outside of Austin.

Minutes later, the owner of a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle contacted the Austin Police Department to report that his motorcycle was stolen from an apartment complex in Austin

Both agencies verified the thefts and entered the motorcycles’ information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in both bikes.

A short while later, the helicopter from the San Antonio Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from both stolen motorcycles on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their helicopter. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the helicopter tracked the motorcycles to a house in Bexar County.  The helicopter directed deputies to the house, where the deputies determined that the motorcycles were stored in the detached garage. The owner of the house gave deputies consent to search her garage.  Inside, deputies found both stolen motorcycles.  The home owner told the deputies that her boyfriend had brought both stolen motorcycles to her house.  An arrest warrant is pending.  Both motorcycles only sustained ignition damage.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2006 Suzuki motorcycle in September of 2006 at Woods Fun Center.  It was installed in the 2007 Suzuki motorcycle in July of 2007 at Chicago Cycles.
