Worcester (MA) Police Recover Stolen Honda Accord, Undamaged, Thanks to LoJack

Sometime early in the afternoon of September 10, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Honda Accord contacted the Worcester Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from the driveway of their Worcester residence.

 The Worcester Police Department verified the theft and entered the Honda’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, officers from the Worcester Police and troopers from the MASP in the area of Grafton Street picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Honda on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to Dupont Street in Worcester, where they observed the unoccupied stolen vehicle. The Honda appeared to be undamaged, and the officers had the vehicle towed from the recovery location. It was held for safekeeping until Worcester Police could notify the owner of its safe recovery.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2007 Honda Accord on December 5, 2006 at Lundgren Honda in Auburn, Massachusetts.
