Pasadena Police Use LoJack to Recover Ford F350 Pickup Truck Stolen in Harris County

On September 14, the owner of a 2007 Ford F350 pickup truck contacted the Harris County Sheriff Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway of his residence in East Harris County. Harris County deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the pickup.
A short while later, officers from the Pasadena Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Ford pickup on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a large apartment complex, where they found the pickup, parked and abandoned. After a surveillance of the vehicle failed to produce any suspects, the officers stored the pickup until the owner could be contacted.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Ford F350 pickup truck in July of 2007 at Lawrence Marshall Chevrolet in Hempstead, Texas.
