Houston Police Use LoJack to Recover Ford F250 Pickup, Abandoned in Good Condition

On September 8, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Ford F250 pickup truck contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway in Harris County, Texas.
Harris County deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Ford pickup.
A short while later, officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Ford pickup on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to an inn in the 4700 North McCarty in Houston, Texas. The pickup was recovered in good condition, with only entry and ignition damage. No arrest or suspects have been made/identified in this case to date.
