LoJack System Helps New York Police Department Recover 2001 Nissan Pathfinder

The owner of a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder parked his vehicle on the street and when he came out the next morning found it missing. He immediately called the police of the 67 precinct, East Flatbush Brooklyn. When the police arrived, they verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack System concealed in the Nissan Pathfinder. This was done both seamlessly and automatically without any other notifications.

Once this was done the vehicle put out a silent signal that enabled the police with LoJack equipped tracking devices to track the vehicle. The signal was picked up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, confines of the 63 precinct by officers of that precinct on the Police Tracking Computer(s) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible signal, they tracked the vehicle to a residential section of the precinct. There they found the vehicle unoccupied. The stolen Pathfinder was placed under surveillance and when no one returned for it, recovered.

The vehicle was recovered with no damage, the owner was notified, and he was elated that his vehicle was recovered so quickly.

The LoJack unit was installed at Star Nissan Bayside, NY. in October 2000.                    

The value of the vehicle was approximately $6500.00.
