The owner of a 2018 Toyota Camry reported their vehicle stolen while they were getting gas at a local gas station. Subjects jumped in their vehicle and took off while the victim was paying for the gas. Once South Fulton Police verified the theft, they entered the vehicle’s information into the NCIC system, which automatically activated the hidden LoJack in the vehicle.

Later that same morning Officers from Atlanta Police and South Fulton Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Tracking Computers (PTC’s) installed in their vehicles and Air Units. After searching the area where they picked up the signal, they were able to find the vehicle and it fled upon seeing the marked Police Units. The Officers did not chase the vehicle but instead kept tracking from a distance until the vehicle parked in a nearby apartment complex. Surveillance was set up on the vehicle and a short time later a male came out and began remove the tag on the stolen Camry. As he was getting back in to the vehicle, Officers were able to arrest him without another car chase. The Camry was recovered and returned to the owner with no damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the vehicle in November 2017 at Toyota South, Ga.
