LoJack System Helps the San Antonio PD Recover a Stolen Hyundai Sonata Making an Arrest

The owner of a 2006 Hyundai Sonata contacted the San Antonio PD to report his vehicle stolen. The owner parked his vehicle at his apartment complex and when he returned to it found it missing. The owner could not find his car keys and thinks he may have dropped them in the parking lot unknowingly.
The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and
federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.
A short while later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent
LoJack signal from the stolen Hyundai with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers
(PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues
from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Hyundai to an apartment
complex in the 10900 block of Laureate where they found it parked in the
parking lot. While waiting for the
vehicle owner to come and get his car, officers observed a suspect get into the
stolen Hyundai and attempt to drive off.
She was stopped and arrested. The
Hyundai was recovered in good condition.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Hyundai Sonata in June 2007 at Enterprise Car Sales in San Antonio, TX.
