LoJack System Helps Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Scion TC

The owners of a 2006 Scion TC contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle stolen from the parking lot of a casino in the 3800 block of Las Vegas Blvd. The owners had borrowed the Scion to their granddaughter to use for the night. The granddaughter said that she was hanging out with friends and after a while found that her friends were no longer around. When she went to leave, she could not find the keys to the Scion. She then went to where the Scion was parked and found that it was missing. She then notified her grandparents who responded to report the Scion as stolen.
Las
Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and
federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in Scion.
A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police
Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and
aircraft. Following the directional and
audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking
lot of a different casino near the 4000 block of Boulder Highway. The Scion was unoccupied and undamaged. The Scion was recovered and towed for safekeeping.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion TC in July 2005 at Toyota of Carlsbad, Carlsbad, California.
