LoJack System Helps Oxnard Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota Camry Two Suspects Arrested

The
owners of a 2005 Toyota Camry contacted the Oxnard Police Department to report
their vehicle stolen. Officers verified
the theft and entered the vehicle
information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically
activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota
Camry.
A short while later auto Theft Detectives from Oxnard Pd working with VENCAT
Ventura Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the
stolen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in
patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following
the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle
to Robert Ave and Oxnard Blvd where they located the vehicle parked in a
parking lot. Detectives set up surveillance noting two individuals who entered
the stolen Toyota and drove off. With the assistance of VENCAT the detectives
initiated a “Hi Risk” traffic stop 5th St and Oxnard Blvd taking two
suspects into custody without further incident.
The driver suspect was booked for driving a motor vehicle without owner’s permission, a (felony) and the passenger was cited out, with the case being turned over to the DDA for review and filing of charges.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in April 2005 at Puente Hills Toyota, Puente Hills CA.
