LoJack System Helps Beverly Hills Police Department Recover Stolen Nissan Altima

The owners of a 2013 Nissan Altima contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen through fraud from their dealership in the 3000 block of East Sahara. The customer had come into the dealership and purchased the Nissan and wrote a check to put down a substantial down payment. Several days later it was learned that the check was fraudulent as well as all of the information about the customer. Because of this a representative of the dealership contacted the police department to report the theft by fraud.
Las
Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and
federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.
A short while later officers from Beverly Hills Police Department picked up the
silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking
Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues
from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to an address in the city
of Beverly Hills California where the Nissan was located unoccupied. The Nissan was recovered and towed for
safekeeping.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in October 2014 at Honda of Hayward, Hayward, California.
