LoJack System Helps Baltimore City Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Civic

The owner of a 2016 Honda Civic contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report their vehicle stolen from 1000 S. Linwood Street in the Canton area of Baltimore City, Maryland. Baltimore City Police Radio dispatched an officer from the 2nd District to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer entered the stolen vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2016 Honda Civic.

A short while later, officers from Baltimore City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2016 Honda Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 700 S. Broadway in the Fells Point area of Baltimore City, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the vehicle parked and unoccupied. Police recovered the undamaged vehicle, and the owner notified.
