LoJack System Helps Cleveland Police Department Recover Stolen Cadillac STS Taken in Residential Burglary

The
owner of a 2003 Cadillac STS contacted the East Cleveland Police Department to
report that her vehicle had been stolen.
The owner woke up and found that unknown suspects had broken into her
home overnight. She discovered several
items missing including the keys to her vehicle. Upon checking her driveway, she found her
vehicle stolen. East Cleveland Police
verified the theft and entered the
vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which
automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed
in the Cadillac.
A short while later officers from the Cleveland Police Department and troopers
from the Ohio State Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the
stolen (make) with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are
installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.
Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers
tracked the vehicle to residential area of Cleveland, where it was found
to be parked and unoccupied.
Because of the quick recovery there was no damage to the stolen Cadillac and
the suspects did not have enough time to strip it. The vehicle was impounded for processing and was
later released to the owner. This matter
is to be further investigated by the East Cleveland Police Department.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac STS in March 2005 at CarMax Houston South, Houston, TX.
