LoJack System Helps Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Recover Stolen Yamaha YFR

The owner of a 2008 Yamaha YFR contacted the Brevard Sheriff’s Office to report that his motorcycle had been stolen.  The Brevard Sheriff’s Office verified the theft and had the motorcycle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Yamaha.

A short while later officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Yamaha with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, the officers tracked the motorcycle to the 14500 block of SW 297th Street in Miami, Florida.

The motorcycle was returned to its owner after crime scene processing.  The LoJack® System was installed in the Yamaha YFR in July 2008 at Deptford Honda Yamaha, in Deptford, New Jersey.
