The owners of a used car dealership contacted the Adams County Sheriff’s Office to report that one of their vehicles had been stolen and that they had suspect information about the thief.  A sheriff’s deputy verified the theft and had the vehicle information regarding the stolen Chevrolet entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lumina.

A short time later officers with the Denver Police Department Gang Bureau picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, the officers tracked the stolen vehicle to the area of 14th Avenue and Ogden Street.

The named suspect was found in the vehicle and was arrested and jailed on auto theft charges.  A second person in the vehicle was ordered-in for questioning.

The Chevrolet was recovered and will be returned to the dealership.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Lumina in March 2002 at Mike Shaw Chevrolet, Denver, Colorado at the request from the previous owner.
